I am an Assistant Professor of English at the University of Montana Western. In my years of postdoctoral and faculty work, I’ve taught courses in drama, film, television, and the novel; literary and cultural theory; and British literature across periods.
My research investigates the intersections among spectatorship, narrative, and performance. I am currently writing a book, Restaging Race: Victorian Spectators and Imperial Performance Narrative, which examines how stories about performance shaped Victorian ideas about race. Previous work has appeared in a number of journals and edited collections, including Theatre Survey, Nineteenth-Century Theatre and Film, Victorian Literature and Culture, Shakespeare Studies, The Oxford Handbook of Shakespeare and Embodiment, and the Los Angeles Review of Books.
